About the club

Weybridge Sailing and Recreational Boating Club – renamed in 2023 to reflect the broad range of activities carried out at the club – is a unique non-exclusive and low cost recreational boating club enjoying informal and friendly membership on an attractive stretch of the River Thames.

We have security key access to all facilities.  Members can be provided with a key to allow members to come and go and use the club as they please.

As an RYA recognised club, we have four flag officers : a Commodore, Vice Commodore, Secretary and Treasurer, but the management is conducted through monthly club meetings that all members are encouraged to attend. (Currently 2nd Wednesday of the month)

  • Commodore:                     Andy Harper
  • Vice Commodore:            Ian Holyhead
  • Hon Secretary:                 Louise Harper        e-mail weybridgesc@gmail.com
  • Hon Treasurer:                Andrew Stanley

Information about Thames river conditions are available from the Environment Agency

All posts are voluntary and support is expected from all members.

All members are requested to attend the work-parties one in the spring, one in July and one in the autumn for a few hours. Your assistance may be requested to help with cleaning, general tidying or simple tasks such as gardening, etc. A list of work needed will displayed at the clubhouse so members can pick whichever suits them. With a little enthusiasm the time passes quickly and becomes rewarding within a party atmosphere. It also helps keep our fees low!!

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Until recently we operated under a simple set of Rules based on the RYA template. However, changes in our lease together with current legislation has meant that we have had to revise and formalise the Club policies, procedures and structure.

Copies of the Constitution, Rules and Bye Laws and Club Policies are on this website and available in the club house. Members should make themselves aware of these for the benefit and protection of individual members and also for the benefit and protection of the club; which is all the members jointly.

Current legislation requires that the club take reasonable actions to protect the wellbeing of all members and any members’ data held by club officials.
